Back in New York, Mindy was Shulman and Associate's go-to gal for any and everything award season related. She'd host parties, hand out ballots and get very, very drunk while ranting about why Leonardo DiCaprio was the most unsung talent in history to anyone who had the misfortune of listening to her.
She hasn't really had that opportunity in Darrow given their total lack of access to real world live TV, a tragedy she talks about incessantly in September and February. When she realizes that they do, in fact, have access to interdimensional cable she freaks the hell out and doesn't even care that she hasn't even seen a single one of the movies nominated for Best Picture.
She usually hasn't, anyway.
She'd spent the Grammy's on the couch with Leo but the Oscars are hers for the taking. There's even a nominee that looks suspiciously like Kate and who she finds herself rooting for, even with Jennifer Lawrence up for what must be her third or fourth Oscar by now.
And then there's Fassy, Matt Damon and Leo bidding for the same title which is the best/worst thing that's ever happened to Mindy, she's pretty sure.
She doesn't have time to send out nice invitations like usual but she spread the news through the office and online, figuring if people want to join in the festivities, they will. It'll be super weird given that the likelihood of anyone knowing any of films is slim to none, but she's fairly certain that she knows enough people who are familiar with the actors who will be walking the red carpet that it will be fun.
At the very least, there will be wine.
